Part Observational Documentary, Part Live Event, Part Hotel Promotional
There was never a dull moment shooting Tui Thomson’s Family Life 2016 Wedding campaign Happy Ever After.
Shooting at three luxury resorts in the beautiful Mediterranean sounds like a dream. And it was if you forgot it was 40 degrees in the shade! Nonetheless we grabbed our cameras and documented every bit we could. Laughter, joy and even a few tears. The competition was based on the concept of Sky Living TV show Four Weddings.
In addition to profiling each Bride and Groom, our brief also covered GV’s of each Resort Hotel and the finer design details of each wedding (dresses, flowers, colour schemes).
The TUI social media and Family team lead by Emma, Lyndsey and Steph were fantastic to work with and also very educational! By the end of the Summer and countless flights and transfers, I was schooled on the ins and outs of social media. From Unicorns vomiting rainbows (Snapchat for those confused) to Boomerang cocktails (Instagram) there was always a good laugh to take the sting out the long hot days and nights. Greg Woodward the stills photographer was a star and Dir Marcus Thomas our fearless leader. Holding down the fort was EP and Creative Director Paul Gowers from Buddy Films in London.
The highlights of the campaign included:
- 6.5 Million Reach on Facebook
- 500,000 video views
- 30,000 + likes
Hotels we shot promotional videos for were:
The Balcony Hotel – Zante, Greece
The Atlantic Hotel & Resort – Cyprus
Mellieha Bay Resort – Malta
