Can you help with the crowdfunding video concept and creative ideas for my corporate promo?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves delivering 360 degree support in the creation of your crowdfunding video or corporate promo.
Preproduction starts with concept brainstorming. If you already have ideas that’s great, but if not don’t worry. We’re here to help and as a team we’ll find just the right hook, pace and structure for your crowdfunding video.
Do you help with the crowdfunding video script?
Definitely! Once we fully understand your business proposition and have an angle of attack agreed, your director, MAG, will draft the first script for your crowdfunding video, utilising any existing pitch decks, websites or marketing materials at hand. You’ll then get the chance to review and comment on the initial treatment for your crowdfunding video, so we can get back to work and make a 2nd draft with revisions. The process is repeated until everyone is 100% confident with the tone and content.
What other elements will we need to have in place to create our Crowdfunding Promo?
With the crowdfunding video script locked, we then move onto logistics and rehearsals. Logistics just involve securing contributors such as: Team Members, Experts, Investors, Customers; as well as identifying suitable locations for shooting interviews and B-Roll Scenarios. The best locations are usually one’s with large open spaces so we can provide depth and separate the speaking from the background. Small conference rooms or white walls are usually to be avoided. Audio is also half of any video, so keep an ear out for any constant or extreme noises that might make an location unsuitable.
I’m worried I’m not that comfortable on camera. Can you help?
No worries! The final piece of pre-production which is a unique feature of Mabinogi’s Crowdfunding Packages — a live rehearsal with your Director via Zoom. During this 30 – 60 minute session, Founders and CEO’s will work one on one with MAG to build your confidence, find your best cadence and deliver your lines in the most persuasive way possible.
Over 3 decades, MAG has worked with Hollywood Stars, UK TV presenters and 100’s of CEOs.
No matter your experience with public speaking by the time you are finished rehearsing you will be ready for Lights, Camera, Action!
Can I use a teleprompter?
Short answer Yes! We have a traditional down the lens teleprompter that we can use for any contributors pieces to camera.
Although we do encourage contributor to at least ‘give it a go’ and try to deliver some lines without the teleprompter as the engagement with the audience is more intimate and therefor more compelling.
Also note if you are looking to do a ‘walk & talk’ or other moving pitch, it will not be possible to use a teleprompter.
How much does a crowdfunding video production cost?
All of our crowdfunding videos are created with Flat Pricing Packages. Click here to view.
This simple price structures allows you to know exactly how much you are paying. All the crowdfunding video packages include equipment, labour, editing, music license, Subtitles and even stock footage from Envato.
How do I know which crowdfunding video package to choose?
It depends on the size of your fundraise as well as the nature of your business. The main difference is the number of shooting days dedicated to your crowdfunding production.
The additional shooting days allow for all the standard interview / pieces to camera as well as an extra day of shooting any use case scenarios, customers interactions and B-Roll to support your pitch. Our Cinematic Package even includes assistance auditioning Actors and securing locations for an extended 3 – 4 day shoot.
But please be aware whichever package you choose, you are contracting us not for our labour but for the final deliverable. This can be confusing for clients new to media production, so we’ve written about it here to avoid any misunderstanding:
The Filmmakers Definition of a Shooting Day.
Which crowdfunding video package is most popular?
80% of our clients opt for the 2-day Premium Crowdfunding Video Package which provides the perfect amount of time for interviews, B-Roll and shooting user experience scenarios. As well as a cushion incase there are any scheduling conflicts. Shooting the entire promo in one day can often be risky for if anything goes wrong you won’t get everything you need.
Our big kick-starter clients often opt for the 3-4 day Cinematic Crowdfunding Video Package so that we can shoot loads of additional material to support their crowdfunding that they can use for their website, socials or marketing.
But please be aware whichever package you choose, you are contracting us not for our labour but for the final deliverable. This can be confusing for clients new to media production, so we’ve written about it here to avoid any misunderstanding:

Can I use my package’s shooting days to capture extra video / images for marketing?
We are happy to discuss using your shoot for the creation of multiple promos but there will be an additional fee for the additional deliverables.
This is because as creatives, we are contracted for what we deliver (i.e. the final videos as specified in the Letter of Engagement) not our labour. The videos are our product. Not the labour.
That said doing back to back shoots (1 for investors, 1 for customers), can save up to 50% off the 2nd production’s cost.
As per the question above, this can be confusing for clients new to video production, so we have written about it here to avoid any misunderstanding:

Are there any hidden costs when making a crowdfunding video with Mabinogi?
Usually the only additional expenses you will incur are any associated travel and accommodation for our team to come to your location if you are not within driving distance of Bristol or Cardiff.
Note: Actors or Voice artists are NOT included in the crowdfunding video packages. We can help with casting and auditions but the cost for the talent will be negotiated and billed separately.
The same goes for locations. You as the client will be expected to provide the locations for the shoot. Don’t have an office? No worries. We know many Start Ups have gone remote in the past years and no longer have a fixed office. But thankfully most major cities have tech hubs and shared ‘WeWork’ style offices which usually can be rented for a small fee.

How long does a crowdfunding video production take?
Usually 3 – 5 weeks from start to finish depending on how prepared your contributors are to shoot and the complexity of the crowdfunding video script and scenarios.
How does the editing process work when creating a crowdfunding video?
As soon as the shoot in finished we head back to the studio and immediately begin the edit. Usually the first cut is ready in approximately 1-2 weeks. Albeit our fastest ever was 3 days!
Once ready to share we send the first cut to you for review. You can then give us any feedback on what you feel is working and what isn’t. Thanks to everyone’s hard work on the script, rehearsals and pre-production, we pride ourselves on delivering a very high standard for the first cut. Any changes requests are identified, titles are finalised, graphics finessed to match your branding guidelines and temp music is slotted in.
The 2nd Cut is then created in a matter of days and sent back for another round of review.
Final change requests are then made. Music track is confirmed and license purchased.
With these last bits and bobs tidied up (including CC Subtitles), the Final Cut and Socials are delivered and ready for your campaign launch!
Can I choose the music? Is the license included?
You bet! We use www.premiumbeat.com so all you have to do is find some tracks you like and send us the links. All packages include at least one music license.
9 times out of then though, we recommend you leave the first music selection to us, as we will have the rough cut directly infront of us and are in a much better position to figure out what best matches the pace and tone of the edit.
After we hand over the first cut, though, you are 100% able to decide to use a different track. And now with the 1st cut for you to see, finding a track that you like AND fits the cut will be much easier.
All you have to do is pop over to www.premiumbeat.com and pick the one you like. We’ll then drop it in on the next cut.
Can I get motion graphics in my crowdfunding video or corporate promo?
You betcha. Standard motion graphics and templates from Envato Elements are included in all packages. Note any custom graphics that need to be created by hand are NOT included. I.e. we will not make you a new original logo for your company.
That said, we do work with freelance 2D and 3D artists and can get quotes for any custom graphic work.
For more on this check out the bottom of this article:
Is stock footage included in my crowdfunding video package?
Yes we have full access to the stock footage library on Envato Elements.
How will the final crowdfunding or corporate promo be delivered?
All videos are delivered via a private VIMEO download link. This link is also embeddable for your website, Seedrs, CrowdCube, Kickstarter, Envestors etc…
You have the option of using the link to Mabinogi’s Vimeo account or setting up your own Vimeo for your company.
Vimeo has been working hard lately to add tools for Marketing and lead generation to separate it from the Wild Wild West of YouTube.
- Create GIF’s from any section of your crowdfunding video – great for emailing & socials.
- Capture email addresses upon viewing
- Custom End Slates & Clickable Calls to Action linking to you campaign
If you find you are interested in getting your own Vimeo account you can use this referral link below to get 25% off.
Can I get all of the raw footage from my crowdfunding video shoot?
Simple answer, yes! But we will have to charge for it.
What is a Social Media ‘Cut Down’ ?
The Social Media ‘Cut Downs’ are shorter versions of the Main Hero Video designed to build engagement prior to viewing the Hero Video.
They are not individual promos and will only contain footage from the final Hero Film.
That said we usually try to target different audiences with the 2 – 3 different versions.
For instance:
One that is heavy on Investor Testimonials.
Another that is highlighting Customer Endorsements
A 3rd that promotes the huge TAM and Traction to Date.
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS ? NO PROBLEM. JUST ASK.
